Pre-Construction - Concept & Design
IHL work closely with both architectural designers and MEP designers to produce functional, practical and accurate designs that are coordinated to suit any on-site restrictions as well as the client’s design intent.
We are well versed in taking a client's brief and developing it into a full construction design, including the offer of value engineering proposals to assist with cost constraints.
Where finishes and fixtures, fittings and equipment are required, we liaise closely with our key suppliers to provide cost savings.
Pre-Construction - Surveys
All our sites are surveyed and depending on the complexity of the project this may involve an on-site, in-depth, intrusive survey. All key sub-contractors and designers would be present so that the findings of these surveys can be used to further their designs and knowledge of the project that they’re working on.
By ascertaining as much knowledge about a project as we can before starting work on it, we can use the pre-construction phase to make changes to the design, plan the project and programme accordingly, and firm up any provisional or unknown costs. By doing this we reduce the likelihood of discovering unforeseen issues whilst delivering the project.
Construction
We work with established, trusted subcontractors on all of our sites, keeping them accountable for their works throughout the lifetime of a project.
IHL pride ourselves on our keen stakeholder engagement and attribute a lot of our successfully delivered projects to detailed, regular client liaison, throughout the construction phase.
We also ensure that all of our projects are delivered ethically in line with our procurement policy, in an environmentally friendly manner in line with our environmental and waste policies, and most importantly, safely in line with our stringent Health & Safety policy.
Post-Construction
The last step in any build. IHL ensure all sites are left clean, all systems training has been undertaken, and a full and final inspection takes place. After completion, we have a final site walk to ensure a client's complete satisfaction.
IHL endeavour to get it right first time, every time. In cases where this is not possible, we have a good record of closing our projects out in a timely and cost-efficient manner. Our aim is always zero defects and our site managers are trained to raise issues with our contractors as they become apparent.
